HISTORY OF BÚZIOS


Situated it has 180km of Rio De Janeiro, Búzios turned one of the main tourist points of Brazil since the visit of the French actress Brigitte Bardot during summer 1964.

Enchanted by Búzios, she gived the attention of the whole world on the natural beauties of the place which entered the diary of international tourism like a simple but sofistiqued place, often compared with St Tropez in the south of France.

1000 years before the portugal, tribes like Tamoios and Goiatacases was living in Búzios. During the 16th century, the peninsule foi ocuped by frenchs pirates and slaves trafic.

Time later, a small community of fishermans instaled on the beach of Ossos called because they boned the whales at this place.

The “Rua das Pedras” at that time was not a street animated as it is today and included only one church and um small bar.
